One estimate says the total spending by 10 foreign visitors to Japan is roughly equal to the average annual expenditures of an individual Japanese consumer and Foreign visitor numbers to Japan reached 13.4 million in 2014 , up 30 percent from the previous year, when the 10 million mark was passed for the first time. The tourist boom is bringing huge economic benefits. Foreigners who visited these shores last year spent about 2 trillion yen $16.67 billion during their stays in Japan.
