Election Results and Newspoll Labor

Abbott: The story is much the same for his government four weeks out from its second budget, according to Nine News Australia. Two polls published on Monday confirm an improvement in the prime minister approval rating with voters, while pointing to different election results. AAPTony Abbott continues to claw back support from voters two months after surviving what he admitted was a near-death political experience. Both The Australian Newspoll and the Fairfax-Ipsos poll show Mr Abbott satisfaction with voters rising to 33 and 34 per cent respectively. The Newspoll result will ease concerns among Liberal MPs who put Mr Abbott leadership to a party room test in February, when the government trailed Labor by as much as 14 points. Newspoll has Labor leading the coalition 51-49 per cent two-party preferred while Ipsos has the opposition ahead 54-46 per cent. (news.financializer.com). As reported in the news.
