Some of the cash was originally slated to come out of existing separate Active Transportation projects for bike lanes, but administrators have been told to find the money in other roadwork budgets. Winnipeg Transit staff pointed out problems to administration following the Blue Bomber season last year. Changes are urgent priority Public Works director Brad Sacher spoke to the city Infrastructure and Public Works committee this week. Thousands of fans were leaving football games and concerts in the dark right next to dozens of transit and school buses brought in for events. "I wouldn't say it unsafe, but we know that it is far less than ideal when you have pedestrians interacting with large vehicles the way it has so far," Sacher said. He told councillors the concerns came out of interaction between vehicular traffic and pedestrians following events at IG Field.
