Hong Kong Ocean Park: The State Government proposal includes a potential resort on the site, and an international koala research centre as part of a plan to use the marsupials to boost the state international profile, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It would operate in partnership between the University of South Australia and Asia most popular theme park, Hong Kong Ocean Park. Map: SA A proposed $100 million redevelopment of Cleland Wildlife Park in the Adelaide Hills is the centrepiece of a pitch to attract overseas investment and tourism to South Australia. Encounter Australia tourism operator Francis Wong said the move would help grow the number of Chinese visitors. "Because of the pollution in China they don't see the green and the blue sky," he said. "It will attract a lot of good Chinese tourists coming down here but what we need to do is spend serious marketing dollars to tell them where we are, who we are, what we have got to offer here and that is a serious investment." Premier Jay Weatherill said Cleland already attracted 100,000 visitors a year. "We think it could be so much more, which is why we're seeking partners with expertise in attracting international tourists to help us achieve that vision," he said. Port Adelaide pitch involves commercial and residential developments on the "last major undeveloped Port waterfront in Australia", and a mix of public and private housing. Other projects to be pitched to China, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and the United States include a $2 billion waterfront development at Port Adelaide, investment in the city Riverbank Precinct and the state food and wine industry.
