U.S. Federal Reserve and TSE

TSE: On Tuesday, the key market gauge lost 129.85 points, according to The Japan Times. The Topix closed down 6.16 points, or 0.38 percent, at 1,633.70 after falling 12.06 point Tuesday. The Nikkei 225 average retreated 38.67 points, or 0.19 percent, to finish at 20,219.27. The TSE got off to a firmer start following overnight rebounds in U.S. and major European equities but soon lost steam, hit by selling of index futures. Attention was to focus especially on a news conference by Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen after the meeting, brokers noted. Brokers said investors retreated to the sidelines to see the results of the U.S. Federal Reserve two-day Federal Open Market Committee meeting through Wednesday. (news.financializer.com).
