: The American economy, the world largest, has rebounded after a winter freeze, according to Market Watch. Companies are adding more than 200,000 jobs a month, consumer confidence is at a post-recession high and people are spending a bit more. Understandably so. The U.S. is poised to grow almost 3% in the second quarter after a 0.2% contraction in the first three months of the year, according to a Market Watch survey of economists. Sales at U.S. retail stores likely rose in June, though not as fast as in May. The latest round of reports this week should bolster the view the economy continues to expand at moderate pace — enough so that the Federal Reserve is gearing up for its first interest-rate increase since 2006.
