Russia: Turkey did not sign the agreement for 2016, according to ASMAP. The Russian Transport Ministry is taking measures to resolve the problem — proposals have been sent to the Turkish side, ASMAP said, according to The Moscow Times. Later on Monday Russia Transport Ministry announced that it would reduce the quantity of mutual permits on cargo transportations from Turkey to Russia due to a fall in the flow of goods, the RIA Novosti news agency reported. Russian truckers have lost the right to transport cargo through Turkish territory because a prior agreement between the two counties expired on Jan. 31. Last November Russia introduced a number of economic sanctions against Turkey following the downing of its warplane near the Turkish-Syrian border.
