Tokyo Market and Dow Jones

: On Thursday, the key market gauge tumbled 485.44 points to end at the lowest level since Feb. 12, according to The Japan Times. The Topix index of all first-section issues closed up 9.27 points, or 0.75 percent, to 1,250.83, after falling 35.55 points the previous day. The 225-issue Nikkei average rose 165.52 points, or 1.07 percent, to end at 15,599.66. The Tokyo market attracted buybacks from the outset of Friday trading, after the Dow Jones industrial average rebounded for the first time in six sessions on Thursday. The dollar climbed above ¥104.50 in Tokyo on Friday morning, after diving to a 22-month low below ¥104 the previous day.
