Samarco: Ore and Iron

samarco: Overall, global June quarter iron ore production dropped to 55.6 million tonnes, down 7 per cent from the same time last year, because of the Samarco mine shutdown, bad weather and maintenance, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Iron ore production globally came in at 227 million tonnes for the 2016 financial year. Pilbara iron ore production is forecast to be flat. Samarco had produced 11 million tonnes of iron ore in 2016 prior to the dam collapse in early November.
