Dow Jones: Percentage Drop and Oil Prices

dow jones: AlcoaAA, -2.87% shares skidded 11% after the company reported results that missed expectations, according to Market Watch. That is the biggest daily percentage drop for the stock since Aug. 8, 2011, according to Fact Set data. A stronger dollar and a retreat in oil prices also hurt sentiment. The S&P 500 index SPX, +0.11% slid 26.93 points, or 1.2%, to close at 2,136.73, with all of its main sectors finishing in the red. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.09% dropped 200.38 points, or 1.1%, to end at 18,128.66. Health-care and materials sectors were the biggest losers. (news.financializer.com).
