Toronto police service Toronto police spokesperson Gary Long said no one was believed to be injured in any of the robberies. Between Aug. 26 to Sept. 15, Toronto police responded to 13 separate incidents involving taxi drivers from various companies, who each alleged they were robbed at gunpoint. In most of the incidents, the taxi drivers were called to pick up fares at residences and schools in the northwest area of the city. The suspects used different names in each call. The callers then threatened the drivers at gunpoint, stealing cash, debit and credit cards, cellphones, identification and other personal items, police said in a news release on Saturday.
