Matt Zabloski, lead for the city's legalization project, said that 3.84 million over two years would be provided to Calgary by the province to cover the cost of implementing and enforcing cannabis legalization. It certainly falls short of what we were expecting and what we were hoping for, Zabloski said. This will offer 11.2 million over two years to municipalities with populations over 5,000. The provincial government announced Monday that it would offset the cost of cannabis legalization for Alberta municipalities with the Municipal Cannabis Transition Program.
