Shutdown: Day Shutdown and Government Shutdown

shutdown: Wall Street isn't banking on another huge gain in hiring in January that matches the flush of 312,000 new jobs last month, according to Market Watch. But it's not because of the partial government shutdown. The U.S. economy produced 2.6 million new jobs in 2018, the most in three years. The roughly 800,000 federal workers who were furloughed or forced to work without wages during the 35-day shutdown are due to receive all their back pay soon. Investors are still expecting a big dropoff, however. As a result, they were considered part of the workforce in January under Labor Department guidelines. (news.financializer.com).
